    Review: Bottomless Brunch

    On a relaxing Sunday afternoon there’s nothing quite like a spot of brunch. Sitting in PANAM Restaurant & Bar, looking out onto the beautiful Albert Dock, I entered a world of sensational flavours and comforting, home cooked freshness. If you thought you’d had brunch, then prepare yourself for the ultimate culinary experience - PANAM’s Bottomless Brunch.


    The first thing you notice when you walk through the doors is the welcoming atmosphere. The staff are exceedingly friendly; it’s like being embraced with a warm hug that lasts the duration of your visit. They instantly make you feel at home. Whether it was a question about the brunch menu or just a chat about the beautiful view, the staff provided exceptional customer service. There was no rush to finish your food, which was lovely and you could sit back, relax and enjoy the experience. The customer service alone made me want to visit PANAM again and the food just reinforced this feeling even more.


    Ah yes, the food. Delicious, perfect - these are all words that describe PANAM’s Bottomless Brunch. There’s no one way to sum it up, as the menu speaks for itself. Starting with a more-ish Breakfast Platter of buttermilk pancakes, waffles, berries and vanilla cream, this was a delightful way to start. The pancakes and waffles were perfectly sized, allowing you to take as much or as little as you liked. Sharing this with my friend, we didn’t know quite where to start as there was so much choice. Needless to say it was so delicious, there wasn’t a drop left on the platter! I’d definitely recommend layering the berries on top of the pancakes, before topping it with the refreshing vanilla cream. The mix of sweet and savoury was like a taste sensation; a symphony of flavours that danced on my taste buds and satisfied me greatly. Plus, the sharing platter is a great idea as it gives you a chance to chat with friends over a delightful dish!


    If that wasn’t enough, the brunch got even better with the second course. I thought that I was spoilt for choice before, but the second course menu was the cherry on top! Between Breakfast Enchilades and a range of choices to satisfy all tastes (including BBQ Beans with chicken breast and more waffles!), I simply didn’t know what to choose! Finally settling on the 6oz steak with eggs, potato frite, tomatoes and mushrooms (a divine twist on the traditional cooked breakfast), the dish was served on a hot plate, which made all the difference. The hot plate kept the food fresh; allowing each mouthful to be as succulent as it was straight from the oven. Each element blended together well; each cooked as we requested it. While I wanted my steak well-done, my friend wanted hers medium rare. The staff took our requests and gave us the meal we desired; superbly crafted and cooked to our satisfaction. While I did find the second course very filling, I finished every mouthful and throughly enjoyed every moment of it.



    For those who love to brunch and those who have yet to brunch, I would recommend PANAM’s Bottomless Brunch highly. Five star quality service with the finest food, I will certainly be going back to this incredible restaurant.
