News: 80's music stars come to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in 2016!

    Midge Ure

It’s time to break out those synthesisers and dance through the night, as The 80’s invasion tour comes to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall next year.

On March 16th 2016, Tony Denton Promotions is bringing four musicians together to perform some of their greatest hits. Ultravox’s Midge Ure will have you singing those synth-pop hits throughout the night, with classic tracks including the beautiful ‘Vienna’ and chart-topping track ‘If I was’. With seven top ten albums in just six years, Midge is one of the decade’s most influential musicians. Joining him is the wonderful Nick Heyward. From Haircut 100 and their infectiously catchy songs such as ‘Love plus one’, Nick is no stranger to crowds cheering for more.

Joining them is the brilliant Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot from Curiosity killed the Cat. One of the late eighties most popular bands, they were nominated for best new act of 1987 at the BRIT awards and had million selling singles including ‘Down to earth’. If that wasn’t enough, completing the line-up is Big Country. The Rolling Stone’s Mick Jagger proclaimed that Big Country were “one of the best opening bands we ever had”, while their songs ‘Chance and ‘Fields of Fire’ were huge hits across the world!

With record sales of over 20 million between them and a 15-date tour across the UK, this is one of 2016’s must see shows.

The 80’s Invasion Tour will be at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on 16th March 2016.
